Please READ CAREFULLY for booking and class information. AS WELL, DUE TO AN AMAZING RESPONSE TO OUR GROUPON FEATURE, PLEASE BE PATIENT WITH US! WE ARE A TINY SHOP, AND WE ARE DOING OUR BEST TO ACCOMMODATE EVERYONE.

General Information
Posted below are the dates for the CocoaNymph Chocolate Lover's Workshop in 2012.

This class involves learning how chocolate is made and its history, a single origin chocolate tasting and a truffle decorating lesson. You will get to take your own chocolates home that you have decorated.

We also released a Groupon for a Drinking Chocolate Tasting Package. Please check your Groupon! If you have a Drinking Chocolate Groupon, you do not have to pre-book. Just come in to the shop during our business hours (11-7 Mon.-Sat. & 1-5 Sun.) to redeem your voucher for a delicious and relaxing drinking chocolate service.

How to Reserve your Seat
We can accommodate 12 people at a time. We are a small shop and will be having over 1000 guests for the workshop in 2011. Please be patient with us - we promise you'll have a good time!

To reserve your seat please call us at 604-222-4477 or email workshops@cocoanymph.com. Please have your name, phone number, and (if possible), your voucher number ready when you call. The voucher number is eight digits (xxxx-xxxx) located under the barcode on your Groupon. Seats available are updated daily, however to ensure you have the most up to date availability, feel free to call the store during business hours.

Please be assured that there are more than enough seats on this schedule for everyone who bought a voucher to get a seat, but it is first come, first served in terms of dates and times, so have a second choice ready when you call, just in case.

What to Bring
You don't need to bring anything except yourself and your Living Social or Groupon voucher, if you have one, as well as the HST for the class, which is $3.60. If you do not have Living Social or Groupon voucher the class is $70.00 + HST. Please note that the temperature in our shop is kept quite cool for the sake of the chocolate. You may want to bring a sweater with you to class.

A note on Dietary restrictions:
Our kitchen contains dairy, nuts and soy products. We regret that we cannot safely accommodate customers with anaphylactic allergies to these products.

The Fine Print
We reserve the right to reschedule up to 48 hours prior to a class, and you also have the right to cancel up to 48 hours ahead of time. Please note that if you cancel less than 48 hours ahead of time you forfeit the right to your seat as you will have taken the spot of someone else. This is in accordance with the fine print on the Living Social and Groupon vouchers.

Please note that we will add more dates as time goes on. If a class is full or nearing capacity it will be indicated next to each date.

5. Vancouver Art Gallery- The VAG. Something about calling it the VAG just makes this art gallery seem a tad sexier than others. Even forgetting that you can get lost in the many levels and rooms that make up the maze of the VAG right now The Modern Woman: Drawings by Degas, Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec and Other Masterpieces from the Musée d’Orsay, Paris is on display for another week (Until Sept 6). 4. Bowling. It’s impossible to not have fun bowling unless you take yourself WAY too seriously so don’t do that. The simple fact is that sometimes the best things in life are the things we used to do for birthday parties as kids. There are a number of options for venues to go bowling in Vancouver so pick the most convenient one, lace up those hideous rental shoes, and up the ante by encouraging a little competition. Are you ready to let loose and encourage your date to release her inhibitions? It’s time for wacky bowling. The rules are simple: each frame requires a different ridiculous technique, for example bowl backwards between your legs, between your date’s legs, twirl around three times and bowl, bowl in slow motion, do a silly walk before throwing the bowling ball, do your best runway strut bowl… Laughter releases endorphins and will show her that you’re more than a pretty face- you embrace life and are a pleasure to be with. Don’t forget to grab a quiet adult snack after to show her you’re still a grown-up man.

3. Guilt & Co. (underneath Chill Winston in Gastown). Guilt is a cozy basement that will warm your innards. It’s in one of Vancouver’s oldest buildings that will give your date that intimate feeling of hiding away from the world while you nibble on sharable finger foods such share Mediterranean olives and gourmet cheese. 2. Wreck Beach. GET WET! I know it’s the favourite place of naked people all summer but come the rainy season this beach becomes a storm watcher’s paradise. While the rain in the city can be a mite depressing, rain in the woods feels refreshing and crisp. When your nose gets chilly what better way to warm up than with a kiss? Pack a thermos of hot chocolate & baileys, an extra blankie for your date to keep extra warm, make sure you both have good rainy footwear, and take a stroll along this abandoned beach, listen to the waves crash and get to know your date.


1. Cocoa Nymph Chocolates & Confections. This cozy little venue has everything you need for a romantic date. Ooey gooey homemade chocolate truffles and my personal favourite- Dark & Spicy Drinking Chocolate with homemade marshmallows. It’s an orgasm in a cup and will make any woman coo with pleasure. Coffee dates have been done and over-done to death but for a reason- it’s a non-threatening environment to get to know a new person. The Cocoa Nymph is a sensual twist on the old classic. It’s the perfect place to sip on decadence while getting to know each other. CocoaNymph Welcomes the World!

We were up to our eyeballs in Valentine's goodies, but the sappy smell of romance has cleared the air and we're focused on the games!

To honour the athletes and visitors from around the globe, we are going to make a chocolate based on one Olympic country every day! Every morning, a country will be posted here, and on our facebook page and twitter site. We want to know what you think a chocolate from that country would taste like! We'll take your suggestions and make one!

If we choose your flavour you'll win a box of them (not to mention the fame and fortune of creating your own chocolate flavour), and everyone who suggests a flavour will be entered to win the entire collection of Global Chocolates at the end of the games! We'll keep this up through the Paralympics too, so be sure to play along!

I've gotten the ball rolling today with Ireland - there are beautiful Bailey's Irish Cream truffles just waiting for you to taste at the Nymph today!

Today I'm taking suggestions for Australia - and tomorrow we'll make something inspired by the Land Down Under!

This fall sees the release of Dave Phillips' greatly anticipated debut EP. Dave got his big break when Grammy winning Producer Ben Mink (Feist, K.D. Lang, Daniel Lanois, Rush) happened across his precocious talent in a Vancouver music store in spring 2008.
